Is abortion really a women's choice?

Description of the Image

Pro choice or pro abortion advocates use the argument that it is the woman’s body and therefore she should have the choice

According to some studies reported by Lozier Institute,

“Nearly 70% of women with a history of abortion describe their abortions as inconsistent with their own values and preferences, with one in four describing their abortions as unwanted or coerced, according to the study published in the medical journal Cureus.” And the

“The second of Charlotte Lozier Institute’s Unwanted Abortion Studies confirms prior research that found over 60% of women who had abortions report high levels of pressure to abort from one or more sources. Those same women report higher levels of subsequent mental health and quality-of-life issues”

According to an article in the Times wrote by post abortion counseller “Coerced abortion is one of the most unrecognised and insidious forms of domestic abuse” The articles reports that typically 75% who make a call for help regarding an abortion, were pressurised or bullied into having one, usually by the man involved. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/hidden-victims-of-coerced-abortion-are-finally-being-recognised-by-law-hrf63v5pk

Heartbeat International published a report by Susan Dammann RN LAS, Medical Specialist In this report, the following statistics were published.

  • 64% of women reported feeling pressured to abort
  • Most felt rushed or uncertain, yet 67% weren’t counseled.
  • 79% weren’t told of available resources.
  • 84% weren’t sufficiently informed before abortion
  • Pressure to abort can escalate to violence
  • Homicide is the leading killer of pregnant women.
  • Clinics fail to screen for coercion
  • Women nearly 4 times more likely to die after abortion.
  • Suicide rates 6 times higher after abortion.
  • 65% of women suffer trauma symptoms after abortion

There is enough evidence that show many women are coerced into having an abortion that they don’t want. In my opinion, it gives men a way out for their actions. If the baby is born, men would have to step up and at least pay child support.
